The Defender's Wiki - Additional walls

Additional walls are walls that are not that important, but may be useful when the match gets longer and the rushers' pressure is increased

Types of additional walls -

  1. Anvil wall Anvil walls are usually placed in front of a frontwall or backwall. It's hard to break through such wall, because anvils are gravity-affected, meaning they fall down if the block below them is air, so it's basically a self-repairing wall. They're not commonly used, because they're very iron-intensive and usually someone will place some on-wall pattern before you gather the resources for the anvils

Third screenshot showcases an incorrect placement of the anvil wall, as the snipers wouldn't be able to shoot someone who's trying to break through

  2. Fence gate wall Fence gate walls are used to prevent rushers from jitter bridging to the wall. They're usually built on the third bedrock wall, if there is one; on the second wall if the main wall is built on top of the first bedrock wall (so when there's no backwall) or just in a reasonable distance from the wall

  3. Water wall Water walls are used to slowdown rushers. They're extremely uncommon, thus I only found two screenshots of their usage in a match, that's also why the walls in the screenshots aren't the best
